Product information "Dragon Tree | Dracaena Marginata for Airy System M and L | 17cm root ball"
VISUALS & PREFERENCES
There are more than 100 species of the dragon tree. It comes from Madagascar - and is no longer regarded as an independent species, but as a form of Dracaena reflexa (var. angustifolia). Since its old botanical name is still used in trade, we also call it Dracaena marginata. The plant has shiny dark green and wine red edged leaves that resemble lancets: 20 mm narrow and 30 to 40 cm long. The slender trunk grows - if it has room - up to 2.40m in height. After a few years of good care, dragon trees look like palm trees, but are not trees and are more closely related to lily of the valley than to palm trees.
Dracaena marginata prefers a sunny to semi-shade place, likes to spend the summer on a balcony or terrace, but should get used to direct sunlight slowly. The Dracaena does not like continuous rain, and at temperatures below 10°C it retreats into the house with pleasure. Do not let it dry out, but keep it moderately moist.
